Description

Synopsis: The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) intends to award a sole-source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, to Custom Gas Solutions, LLC, Durham, NC 27704, for the supply and delivery of Cyanogen Chloride (CK) gas in support of chemical agent testing.



This action follows a Request for Information (RFI) issued to assess market capability. Only one response was received, from Custom Gas Solutions, LLC, confirming their unique ability to meet the Government’s technical and safety requirements.



The requirement includes delivery of up to 1,000 lbs. of CK gas at ≥96% purity, in multiple shipments over a 60-month ordering period, with the following performance criteria:





  1. Production:





    • CK gas at ≥96% purity, verified by GC-MS or GC-TCD




    • Batch-level analysis of ClCN, HCN, and CO₂






  2. Stabilization:





    • Prevent polymerization during transit and at temperatures up to 122 °F (50 °C)






  3. Cylinder Documentation:





    • Certificate of purity




    • Full chemical analysis




    • Stabilizer type and quantity




    • Production and fill dates






  4. Leak Detection & Storage:





    • Interim storage and leak testing prior to shipment






  5. Transportation & Delivery:





    • Compliant delivery to military facilities in Maryland and Arkansas under applicable hazardous material regulations







This notice is issued in accordance with FAR 5.203(a) and is not a request for proposals.
