Summary

General work description:

The City of Florissant is soliciting sealed bids from qualified, professional contractors to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to remove and replace the existing spa and filtration system at the James J. Eagan Center.

All work shall be performed during the month of March and must be fully completed in April 2026, in coordination with City staff to minimize disruption and ensure timely reopening of the facility.

The project includes, but is not limited to, demolition and disposal of existing spa, surface preparation, installation of spa and and associated materials, and restoration of adjacent areas affected by the work. All work shall comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes, industry standards, and manufacturer recommendations, and shall be completed in a safe and workmanlike manner.

A detailed scope of work is provided below.

Scope of Work:

  • Provide drawings and permit to St. Louis County Health Department and City of Florissant
  • Demo of the existing spa and tile surrounding (Will be completed by City of Florissant)
  • Demo of existing spa equipment
  • Install new spa shell (144"x92"x42.5 deep), fiberglass shell, replumbed in schedule 40 ridge PVC.
  • Water line tile with depth markers on interior walls of spa.
  • Hook to pipes sleeved through the floor
  • Install all new equipment package, including filter pump, jet booster pump, filter pump, and heater.
  • All new piping, valves and fittings
  • Reuse existing chemical controller, chlorinator, and PH feeder
  • New emergency shut off and timer system
  • Build new deck around spa
  • Using Trex type material for the top (Approval by County Health Department)
  • Sides of structure to be enclosed with material and have access panel to underneath of spa
  • Start up and commissioning
  • All electrical work to be completed by contractor
  • The City of Florissant will keep old pumps and filter for emergency back up

Products specified in this document are intended to describe the required quality, performance, and characteristics. Bidders may propose comparable or equivalent products, provided they meet or exceed the specified requirements and are approved by the city prior to use.

All work figured for normal daytime hours. 7am-5pm

The City of Florissant is tax exempt.
