The State University of New York at SUNY Old Westbury will receive sealed bids for project number SOW05012025 titled Media Innovation Center Renovation until 2 p.m. local time on June 10, 2025, at SUNY Old Westbury, Campus Center, H-311, 223 Store Hill Rd., Old Westbury, NY 11568, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.

All work on this Contract is to be completed within/by September 2025.

A Mandatory Site Walkthrough will occur on Wednesday 05/27/2025 at 10:30am meeting at Campus Center outside of Rm G114.

Division 1 - General Requirements

SECTION A - Description of Work

1. Work to be Done

Job Title: Media Innovation Center Renovation

The work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents, consists of performing, installing, furnishing and supplying all materials, equipment, labor and incidentals necessary or convenient for the construction of Project Number SOW04302025 , titled Media Innovation Center Project and carry out all of the duties and obligations imposed upon the Contractor by the Contract Documents.

Part I

New windows are to match existing windows in “I” Wing north first floor in construction, glass, operation, screens and color (white). Existing must be observed and details noted by vender upon mandatory bid walk. Additionally, new windows in “E” Wing are to be spaced such that they coincide with vertical exterior panel joints. Shop drawings and material submittal must be approved before material purchase.

Install exterior windows in 3 rooms in the Campus Center Building, Media Innovation Center rooms G114, G115, G124. This will include cutting holes in an exterior wall.

The window in Room G114 has a rough opening of 55” x 88” this could be one window or 2 windows. Windows are to be double pane and openable to allow for air flow.

Room G115 has a rough opening of 55” x 84” this could be one window or 2 windows. Windows are to be double pane and openable to allow for air flow.

Room G124 has a rough opening of 65” x 214” this could be one window or multiple windows. Windows are to be double pane and openable to allow for air flow.

Part II

Sound proofing Rooms G114, G118, G125, G126, the project is in the Campus Center Building, Media Innovation Center. The sound proofing goes as follows:

Room G114 – Office – Sound proofing needed wall opposite door floor to ceiling

Room G118 – Studio B – 3 walls (Not Door and Window Wall) Floor to Ceiling

Room G125 – Studio A – 4 walls Floor to ceiling

Room G126 – Edit Studio – each one of the small rooms A-E 3 walls (not door wall) Floor to Ceiling

Room G119 – Brick wall needs sound proofing

The Type of Sound Proofing is Grey Form other types of Sound proofing

will be discussed during the visit

Part III

Media Innovation Center Room G125 (Studio A) to Epoxy paint Flat Black only on Cement floor. The floor will need cleaning and minor repair work

The size of the floor is 47.5 feet x 31’ feet

Schedule:

All Work to be done through completion June 2025 to August 2025

Contactors provide a preliminary schedule for lead time of all main materials with their bid.

Work Not Included:

Work not included in the work of the Contract are those items marked "N.I.C"; movable furnishings, except those specifically specified or indicated on the Drawings; and items marked "by others".
