1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 PURPOSE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit proposals to establish a contract for an hourly labor rate to perform Painting Service in various
locations on the campus of Black Hills State University, Spearfish and Black Hills State University, Rapid City.
To include but not limited to: minor painting in buildings, painting services of construction and renovation projects, and miscellaneous painting services
as needed
A valid copy of the contractor’s license and liability insurance certificate is required.
1.2 ISSUING OFFICE AND RFP REFERENCE NUMBER
Black Hills State University (BHSU) is the issuing office for this document and all subsequent addenda relating to it, on behalf of the State of South
Dakota, Black Hills State University. The reference number for the transaction is RFP# 24RFP10201. This number must be referred to on all proposals,
correspondence, and documentation relating to the RFP.

Pre-proposal Visit: Before submitting a proposal, BHSU suggests that vendors visit the site to become fully acquainted with existing
conditions, facilities, difficulties, and restrictions. To schedule a site visit, please contact Mike Overby at 605-642-6244. Inquiries from 7 AM
– 3:30 PM MST, Monday – Friday.
1.4 SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL
All proposals must be completed and received in the BHSU office by the date and time indicated in the Schedule of Activities. All proposals must be
signed, in ink, by an officer of the responder, legally authorized to bind the responder to the proposal before it is emailed. Proposals that are not
properly signed may be rejected.
Proposals received after the deadline will be late and ineligible for consideration.
The proposal should be page numbered and should have an index and/or a table of contents referencing the appropriate page number.
