Description
AVAHCS currently owns the owns the ORTHO® Workstation, a 2-in-1 blood testing system with ID-Micro Typing System Gel Column Agglutination Technology. This system is used to perform ABO/Rh blood typing, antibody screening, antigen screening, and antibody identification of patient samples. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is the proprietor of the reagents for the ID-Micro Typing System .
Physicians rely on these test results in the treatment of patients with anemia, leukemia, factor deficiency, bleeding disorders, immunocompromised patients needing a blood transfusion, etc. Disruption of this service will be detrimental to the care of patients.
Reagents required are as listed below:
MTS9230 - MTS Diluent 2
Qty: 4 (one per quarter)
Buffered saline solution formulated to give appropriate pH and ionic strength to be compatible with dextran acrylamide gel; exclusive for tests performed in the ID-Micro Typing System
MTS084024 - MTS Anti-IgG Cards
Qty: 5 (two in first quarter, one per quarter for remainder)
Anti-Human Globulin (Anti-IgG) suspended in a diluent and buffered gel solution is contained in the 6 microtubes of the card. For use with the ID-Micro Typing System .
6902316 - 0.8% SURGISCREEN
Qty: 13 (one per month)
0.8% suspensions of human group O red blood cells, derived from individual donors with specific blood groupings. Used for the detection of unexpected blood group antibodies using ID-Micro Typing System Gel Test methods.
6902096 - ORTHO Confidence System
Qty: 13 (one per month)
Qualitative controls to validate blood bank procedures, including reactivity of anti-A, anti-B, anti-A,B, anti-D, and the anti-IgG component of antihuman globulin, as well as reverse grouping of cells and reagent blood cells uses for antibody detection.
719210 AFFIRMAGEN®
Qty: 13 (one per month)
3% suspension of human red blood cells, one containing group A1 cells, and the other group B cells. Used for the affirmation of expected ABO blood group antibodies.
