Description

All material, equipment, and services required for the installation of a Mobile Pallet Racking System in the USPFO CIF warehouse to include:

a. 2 new rows of pallet racking each of which is 47'1 1/2" in length and 16'6 7/8" in height, with 4 beams levels per bay. This will equal 20 beam levels per pallet racking system and 40 pallet positions per pallet racking system for a combined total of 40 beam levels and 80 pallet positions.

b. A site visit will be required to ensure the contractor has all of the correct measurements in order to properly order the system.

c. All new beam levels will include grating that allows for the placement and storage of standard pallets.

d. This will also include the installation of 2 mobile carriages on surface mounted rails one for the new pallet racking and one for the pre-existing pallet racking already in the warehouse.

e. The pre-existing pallet racking will be removed from its existing location by the contractor and re-installed into one of the mobile carriages.

f. The pre-existing pallet racking has 3 beam levels in each of the 10 bays, an additional 4th beam level with grating will need to be added at the ground level to each of those 10 bays and a 5th beam level with grating will need to be added between the bottom and middle beam levels in 3 of the bays.

g. Surface mounted rails shall withstand forklifts transiting over them, the rails must be able to withstand at a minimum 10,000 lbs. driving across them on a routine basis.

h. Contractor shall install surface mounted rail system on the existing floor.

i. Contractor will ensure not to damage the integrity of the floor, the ceiling, all existing lighting and fire suppression systems or any other aspects of the facility.

j. Contractor shall Hardwire mobile pallet racking system into the existing electrical system.

k. The carriages shall be able to hold 16,000 pounds per bay.

l. The carriages shall be able to hold 160,000 pounds in total.

m. Contractor will include signage on each system that states maximum allowable weights per beam level and maximum allowable weights per bay and total maximum allowable weight per carriage system.

n. Mobile pallet racking system must allow for both mobile shelving units to collapse both left and right widening the work area.

o. Contractor is responsible for conducting a functions test to ensure all systems operate correctly in all modes.

p. Contractor will ensure that placement of systems and installation meets all OSHA, state and local requirements.

q. Contractor will have access to the facility between the hours of 0800 – 1600 AKST Mon – Thur.

r. Contractor will provide their own Material handling Equipment.

s. The contractor is responsible for loading and transporting all debris generated.

t. Disposal of debris shall be at contractor’s expense and shall be delivered to a state approved disposal site located off base.

u. Debris will be disposed of in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations.

v. The contractor will provide one year warranty on parts and labor.

w. The contractor will provide service contact information and warranty forms.



x. Contractor needs to have nearby installer available in case of needed follow up and warranty work.
