THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), single source for purchase not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, to:

Description of Requirement: The contractor shall provide a new thermogravimetric analyzer with differential scanning calorimeter with the following minimum requirements:

• Furnace temperature range: 0°C to 1000°C


• Furnace temperature accuracy: +/- 0.3K


• Furnace temperature precision: +/- 0.2K


• Furnace temperature resolution: 0.001 K


• Furnace heating time: 10 min


• Furnace heating rate: 150 K/min


• Cooling system: mini-chiller


• Able to perform dual analysis of thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry


• Microbalance range: 0-1g


• Microbalance resolution: 1.0 ug


• Must be compatible with existing STARe evaluation software package


• Qty: 1 system

The NAICS code for the expected acquisition is 334516, with a Size Standard of 1000 employees and the PSC Code is 6640.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
