Amendment 0006 RFI Responses & FAR Clause addition
Description of the work: The project scope includes all supervision, labor, tools, materials, transportation, equipment, and other services necessary to Design-Build Chase Hall Barracks-Annex D Mid-Life Renovations, Phase VI at U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT.
Base Item 1: Design-Build renovation project at USCG Academy at New London, CT. Provide interior renovations and life safety upgrades to Chase Hall Barracks – D Annex. Provide all labor, material, equipment, mobilization, demobilization, permitting, construction support, quality control services, and ancillary items required for site development and construction, excluding items identified in Option Items. The base bid scope consists of the following types of renovations within Annex D:
• New Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning
• New fire detection/alarm system and Mass Notification System (MNS)
• Installation/replacement of a fire protection sprinkler system
• Communication systems modernization
• Electrical systems modernization
• Interior finishes repairs and modernization
• Abatement of asbestos containing building material
• Encapsulation/disposal of Lead Based Paint (LBP)
• Toilet/shower spaces (including ADA toilets and showers)
• Fire protection/alarm systems
• Replacement of existing elevator
• New CCTV system for all corridors, all stairwells, all stair landings and basement areas
• Roof repair where existing rooftop mechanical equipment/penetrations will not be reused
• Various exterior building envelope modifications such as louver installations in existing masonry and cast-concrete walls or at existing window locations
• Installation of ice breaks on the slate roof
• New berthing room furniture
• New accessible ramp
