The Library of Congress (“Library”) Space Utilization, Planning and Design (SUPD) provides space planning, interior design procurement and construction management services in conjunction with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) for all Library facilities. SUPD also plans, designs space requirements, and maintains an efficient and cohesive facility aesthetic on and off the Library Capitol Hill Campus including the James Madison Memorial Building (2,034,443 SF), the John Adams Building (1,043,193 SF), the Thomas Jefferson Building (1,064,859 SF), the Taylor Street Annex (87,300), Taylor Street Annex Warehouse (70,000 SF), St Cecelia’s Special Facility (44,000 SF), Ft. Meade Book Storage Modules (208,535 SF), the Cabin Branch Facility (146,121 SF), and the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center (NAVCC) in Culpeper VA (346,500 SF). SUPD develops and implements Library policy governing the use of space, furniture, and finish standards.
The LOC requires a flooring contract that offers and supports a broad number of flooring options for the maintenance, renovation, and preservation of both historic space and modern business, assembly, storage, and processing spaces.
