Description
The work is to create an ecological island in the Bonefish Cove area of Lake Worth Lagoon, Palm Beach County, Florida. Fill to create the island is from Peanut Island located just west of Lake Worth Inlet. The hauling distance is approximately 10 nautical miles and must cross under four bridges, two of which are draw bridges. Work includes clearing and grubbing, excavation and transportation of fill material, constructing stone wave breaks, oyster reefs and bird mounds, as well as planting mangroves. Incidental related work also includes turbidity and vibration control monitoring.
