The upper air building is roughly 16'x 16’, 256 square feet.
AMENDMENT 0003 April 23, 2024 Q&A:
We understand interior walls are to be sealed and painted per the SOW, and also understand that the joints / cracks and wall penetrations to be caulked, which will occur on the exterior side of the CMU walls. But is exterior of the CMU walls to be sealed with fluid-applied coatings / sealers? ANSWER: yes, all concrete block walls both exterior and interior will be sealed and painted.

QUESTIONS: Building:
• Replace wooden fence enclosing Hydrogen Bottle storage area.
Are only wooden components to be replaced, in that all metal posts, brackets, etc. remain? ANSWER: The metal posts nor metal I-beams don't need to be replaced. only the wooden fence to be replaced.
Is wooden fencing to be replaced in-kind / similar to existing? ANSWER: Yes, replaced with the same type of wooden fencing.
Replace metal roof panels covering Hydrogen Bottle area.
Are only metal roof panels to be removed and replaced? ANSWER: Yes, replaced with 26-gauge metal roof panels.
Are roof structure supports to remain? ANSWER: Yes.
Are metal panels to be replaced in-kind / similar to existing? ANSWER: Yes, replaced with 26-gauge metal roof panels.
QUESTIONS: Metal:
• Treat all rust on metal parts with a rust inhibitor to prepare for painting. ANSWER: YES
- Remove and replace metal that is not salvageable. ANSWER: YES
• Prime and paint all new metal parts. ANSWER: YES
In addition to new metal parts – if and where required – is Contractor to paint all existing metal parts? ANSWER: YES
Can we assume that both primer and paint finish are required on existing metal parts? ANSWER: YES, as per SOW.
Is the hyperbolic dome to be primed and painted? ANSWER: NO, it's not in SOW nor does it apply to this project.
In addition to painting metal – Is the low-sloped / flat roof concrete apron at base of dome to be cleaned and re-sealed with elastomeric roof coating? ANSWER: NO
QUESTIONS: Hand Rail:
• Prepare hand rail for re-painting. ANSWER: YES, as per SOW.
Does preparation include abrasive grinding and sanding? ANSWER: No, grinding is not necessary, light sanding will be required.
QUESTIONS: Block Walls:
• Apply masonry sealer to block walls. ANSWER: YES, as per SOW.
Masonry sealer specified is: Sherwin Williams Loxon Masonry Coating (Clear), but this material is manufactured and specified to be applied directly to bare concrete and masonry. The existing walls are paint-coated and material compatibility and adhesion may become an issue. Normally, industry standards recommend an oil-based primer to paint-coated walls, followed by an elastomeric paint finish. Please advise. ANSWER: the interior walls are not painted at the current time, as per SOW seal and paint.

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office (WFO) Tampa located at WFO Tampa, 2525 14TH AVE SE, Ruskin, Florida 33570-5468 require repair and repainting of the Upper Air Inflation Building (UAIB), Hydrogen Tank Enclosure in accordance to the statement of work (SOW).
