4 SCOPE OF WORK
The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas, on behalf of the Engineering and Utilities Department, is accepting bids for work
to be performed as described in the scope of work. The scope of work is to provide labor and materials to install an
Emergency Backup Generator (Gen-Set) and an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) to the existing Desoto Water
Booster Pump Station located at 1715 Park Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Gen-Set and ATS are already in
storage at the Hot Springs Utility Facility at 780 Adams Street. The Gen-Set is a Kohler 53 kW Natural Gas unit
(2,700 lbs.), and the ATS has a 150 Amp rating. The Desoto Pump Station Submittal Package describe the
material equipment found in the Attachments tab.
The following specifications describe the minimum requirements for this project. The project shall include a new
Gen-Set foundation slab to install the Gen-Set and ATS on, new conduit/wiring between the existing utility meter and
Gen-Set/ATS, and modifications to the existing Distribution Panel. The project drawings and
specifications, CHS-060 Desoto Pump Station Generator, dictate the installation requirements found in
the Attachments tab.
The materials bid shall be of a new, current design production model and available to the commercial market. The
bid shall include one (1) copy of the standard items manufacturer’s published specifications furnished unless
otherwise noted and warranty. The City reserves the right to review the manufacturer’s specifications and to choose
the materials deemed to be in the City’s best interest. The City of Hot Springs reserves the right to award within the
budget available for the project. The equipment shall comply with all state and federal safety requirements. Any
deviations to these specifications shall be explained.

6 STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENTS

Certificates for coverages and items below shall be submitted by the Bidder with the bid forms. If nothing listed
below, no insurance requirements apply.
8 General Liability (Minimum Amount) $1,000,000
Bidder is required to submit the certificate in the response attachments.

0 Every bid submitted on public construction contracts over $35,000 must have a bid bond. The follow guidelines
