The garments that are supplied to these employees include, but are not limited to: pants, coveralls, shirts, and jackets. In addition to uniforms, the County also obtains supplies including, but not limited to: shop towels, fender covers, and floor mats. The Contractor shall provide weekly rental, laundry, and maintenance services related to these garments and supplies as described in this solicitation.

On behalf of the Marin County Department of Public Works the Marin County Procurement Division is seeking
to contract for uniform and laundry services as described in this solicitation.
Proposal packages will be received through Thursday, November 9, 2023 UNTIL 2:00PM local time.
Written submission must include one (1) written original (marked as such) and one (1) electronic proposal
copy on a jump/thumb drive, delivered to the Marin County Procurement Division, 3501 Civic Center Drive
Room 304, San Rafael, Ca 94903 or electronic submissions through Bid Express®.
Any proposer who wished their proposal to be considered is responsible for making certain that the
completed proposal, including all RFP documents, is received in the Procurement office by the proper time.
Proposals received after the scheduled submittal deadline will be returned unopened.

SCOPE OF WORK
Background
The County of Marin Department of Public Works provides uniforms and laundry services to employees in
the Garage, Print Shop, Radio, Roads, and Maintenance/Custodial divisions. The garments that are
supplied to these employees include, but are not limited to: pants, coveralls, shirts, and jackets. In addition
to uniforms, the County also obtains supplies including, but not limited to: shop towels, fender covers, and
floor mats. The Contractor shall provide weekly rental, laundry, and maintenance services related to these
garments and supplies as described in this solicitation.
Project Specifics
The County of Marin is requesting proposals from qualified providers of Uniform Rental, Laundry, and
Maintenance services. It is the County’s intent to award this contract for an initial one (1) year term,
beginning December 15, 2023 and ending on December 14, 2024. By mutual agreement the contract may
be extended, through written correspondence by the Procurement Division for a maximum of four (4)
years in one (1) year increments.
Startup
At the commencement of this contract the Contractor shall issue new, unwashed and unworn uniforms,
garments and supplies. The initial inventory shall be provided to existing permanent or temporary
employees, and any new or additional permanent or temporary County employees thereafter regardless of
hire date.
The Contractor shall provide each employee:
- Eleven (11) sets of uniforms, unless otherwise designated by the Division representative.
- One (1) uniform will be worn, five (5) uniforms will be sent in for Laundry,
- Five (5) uniform will be clean and available at the work site. Uniforms shall consist of, but not be
limited to, a work shirt, work pants and/or coveralls.
- All garments for permanent and temporary hires must include standard name patches as
designated by the County Representative from the date of issue.
Startup of Supplies, such shop towels, fender covers, and floor mats, shall be determined through the
proposed Transition Plan and with collaboration of the Division Representative.
The quantities of uniforms for startup are included in the estimated County usage table (see Attachment
A). Startup Costs shall be included by the Contractor with their price submission and shall be an additional
charge to the County.
The Contractor shall designate an account manager and maintain sufficient staff, pickup and delivery
drivers and facilities to properly and adequately perform all services requested under the contract and all
related issues.
Transition Plan
The Contractor must include a description of its proposed transition plan that would ensure a smooth
transition of uniform rental and laundry services from the current services provider with its bid submission.
