Denver is looking to install raingardens on private property that will:

Purpose

The purpose of this RFP is to provide up to $450,000.00 over three years ($150,000.00 per year for three years) in direct funding to create new or expand existing programs that plan, site, install, and maintain low-water and native landscape ‘rain gardens’ that responsibly utilize and sequester stormwater on private property in Denver.

Goals

This project seeks to:

  • Install up to 50 raingardens annually
  • Complete up to 100 water utilization improvement audits per year on private property in Denver’s most heat and severe weather-vulnerable neighborhoods
  • Source drought tolerant and native plant species
  • Fully fund robust professional development for youth and adult rain garden installers
  • Hire and train new staff
  • Ensure raingarden establishment
  • Build lasting relationships with community-based organizations and community residents
  • Create and install at least one public-facing demonstration raingarden
  • Create an effective and scalable model for private property stormwater utilization strategies
