Purpose
The purpose of this RFP is to provide up to $450,000.00 over three years ($150,000.00 per year for three years) in direct funding to create new or expand existing programs that plan, site, install, and maintain low-water and native landscape ‘rain gardens’ that responsibly utilize and sequester stormwater on private property in Denver.
Goals
This project seeks to:

Install up to 50 raingardens annually

Complete up to 100 water utilization improvement audits per year on private property in Denver’s most heat and severe weather-vulnerable neighborhoods

Source drought tolerant and native plant species

Fully fund robust professional development for youth and adult rain garden installers

Hire and train new staff

Ensure raingarden establishment

Build lasting relationships with community-based organizations and community residents

Create and install at least one public-facing demonstration raingarden

Create an effective and scalable model for private property stormwater utilization strategies
