Description


Sealed bids will be received by the town of Alapaha until 2:00 PM on Wed, March 20 2024 at Town Hall,112 NW Railroad Street,Alapaha,Georgia 31622,at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of (90) days.All Bidders must have a State of Georgia Utility Contractor License and must employ a state ¿Utility Manager¿ certificate holder who will have oversight of all the work.Work consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor for the construction of the following improvements:Removing and replacing approximately 3,139 linear feet of 8" and 10" sewer lines, installation of two baffles, complete with appurtenances.Time allotted for construction is 180 days for final completion.Work to be performed under this contract is partially funded with Federal funds from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund (SFRF) Water Sewer Infrastructure Grants and is subject to Federal laws and regulations associated with that program.Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of at least 10% of the lump sum bid for the work; such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly enter into a contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond as provided by law. Each bond shall be equal to 100% of the contract amount.The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the Town of Alapaha, Georgia as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within 10 days after being notified of contract award. Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the Town of Alapaha, Georgia and at the Turnipseed Engineers¿ offices in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia.Copies of the plans may be obtained from Turnipseed Engineers,2255 Cumberland Parkway, Building 400, Atlanta, Georgia 30339, for a fee of $200.Additional reduced drawings are available for $100.
