IFB 11-23 Construction of a Bulk Sodium Hypochlorite System is a project for replacing the existing chlorine gas system with a bulk sodium hypochlorite system at Rockville’s Water Treatment Plant. The water treatment plant is located in Montgomery County on Sandy Landing Road in Potomac, Maryland. The plant was originally built in 1958 with a 4 million gallons per day (MGD) capacity, then upgraded to its current capacity of 8 MGD in 1968. The project consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, tools and services for the upgrades and other associated work as specified in the contract documents.
