ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by Wake County Procurement Services, in Suite 2900, Wake
County Justice Center, 301 McDowell Street, Raleigh, NC 27601, up to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday,
November 28, 2023, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for providing labor,
material and equipment entering into the construction of Go Apex Route 1 Bus Stop Improvement
Project, located in Apex, NC.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at
Town of Apex Town Hall, 73 Hunter Street Apex, NC 27502 (Third Floor Training Room A).
The Project consists of, but is not limited to:
Concrete pad, Bus Shelters, and appurtenances at four (4) different bus stop locations
throughout Apex as part of the GoApex Route 1 Bus Stop Improvements. In addition, the
project proposes the installation of approximately 200 LF of 5’ sidewalk along James
Street, 625 LF of 5’ sidewalk along NC Highway 55, 2.5’ curb and gutter, ADA ramps,
pedestrian striping, mill and overlay, new curb inlets and storm drainage piping.

Complete Bidding Documents including plans and specifications may be obtained from The
Wooten Company, 120 N. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603. Electronic documents will be provided
at no cost. If desired, hard copies may be obtained at the office of the Engineer upon providing a
one hundred dollar ($100.00) non-refundable fee.
With request for Bidding Documents supply the following information: Company name, contact
person, street address, and phone and fax numbers for Bidding office; N. C. contractor’s license
with limitation and classification; indicate if the firm will be a Bidder, Supplier or Sub-Contractor.
Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding
Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87 and the Instructions to
Bidders.
Bid Security in the amount of five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be
subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders.
Wake County provides minorities and women equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of its
construction program consistent with NCGS §143-8. Bidders shall comply with the requirements
of the Wake County Minority Business Enterprise Program, as outlined in the Bidding
Requirements Section of the Project Manual.
No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for bids.
