The University of Nebraska is requesting proposals from qualified bidders to provide all material and labor for removal of existing steam and condensate lines along with concrete tunnel in which steam and condensate piping is currently located. Removal of these items will require removal of at-grade pavements, sidewalks, and landscaping. Removed piping to be replaced with direct-bury preinsulated piping. New piping to be connected to existing piping on each end of the project, with new piping to be installed within the intermediate structures. A new precast concrete vault will replace an existing intermediate vault. Subsidiary work includes relocation of storm sewer piping, new storm sewer structure, replacement of all removed sidewalks, pavements, and landscaping. Project will also require temporary pavements, fencing, and temporary on-grade steam and condensate piping to maintain functionality of the Campus systems during construction.
