INVITATION FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received from prequalified contractors at the office of the Department of Public Works

of the City of Manchester, New Hampshire before or at 2:00 P.M., prevailing time on MAY 09, 2024 for

the following described services:

FENCING IMPROVEMENTS FOR CITY BRIDGES

FY24-500-61

The City of Manchester is accepting bids for its 2024 FENCING IMPROVEMENTS FOR CITY BRIDGES.

The scheduled work is located in various areas around the City of Manchester and consists of the

installation of protective fencing to the existing bridge rail systems on three City owned bridges. The works

includes field drilling holes into the existing rail posts and installing the protective fencing system.

Certified Check/Bid Bond: Five Percent (5%) of the Total Contract Price

Current bid opportunities and past bid results can be found using the following URL:

Specifications and proposal forms may be obtained on the City’s website at www.manchesternh.gov, or

may be obtained at the Office of the Department of Public Works (475 Valley Street) for $25.00 cash or

check, non-reimbursable.

A $5.00 non-refundable mailing fee will be charged for specifications mailed to any contractor. Checks

should be mailed to Department of Public Works, 475 Valley Street, Manchester, N.H. 03103.

All individuals, firms, partnerships, or corporations intending to bid must be prequalified for the project.

Those contractors who have not submitted their Annual Prequalification forms and are interested in

bidding shall be required to submit their project specific prequalification form at least five (5) working

days prior to the bid opening.

Prequalification forms may be obtained at the Office of the Department of Public Works (475 Valley

Street) for $5.00 or downloaded from the following URL:

https://www.manchesternh.gov/Departments/Purchasing/Forms-and-Documents

All checks shall be made payable to: “Department of Public Works, City of Manchester, N.H.”

Bids must be completed in both words and numerals on regular proposal forms, which shall be submitted

in a sealed envelope marked: “Proposal for FENCING IMPROVEMENTS FOR CITY BRIDGES FY24-500-61”,

addressed and delivered to the Department of Public Works not later than the date and time mentioned

above, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount listed above, payable to:

“Department of Public Works, City of Manchester, N.H.”, as security for the execution of the Contract.

A Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Contract price will be

required from the successful bidder.
