Episcopal Hospital Boiler Plant Upgrade

Description:

Temple University is seeking qualified contractors to bid on work for the Electrical Package as part of the Episcopal Hospital Boiler Plant Upgrade Project to be constructed at 100 East Lehigh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125.

Temple University intends to upgrade the existing boiler plant located at the Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia which will service the existing hospital. Completion of the boiler plant upgrade is tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2021. The upgrade will consist of the installation of three new high-pressure steam boilers with stack economizers and select ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to, new fans and heating coils as part of the combustion air system, new fuel oil pump system, controls including metering devices and tie-in to the building automation system for control and monitoring, new panels, breakers, circuits, conduit and wiring, starters, disconnects to accommodate new or re-used mechanical equipment as well as controls. The upgrade also includes fire alarm system modifications and the installation of new electrical equipment such as lighting fixtures, outlets, etc.
The disconnect and removal of the existing boilers and associated ancillary equipment currently located in the plant building will be included in the overall Scope of Work. The Episcopal Hospital Boiler Plant Upgrade Project is structured as a multi-prime Contract arrangement. The Prime Contractors will include: General, Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection, and Electrical.

Electrical

The Scope of Work for the Electrical Package shall include all necessary services, work, labor, material, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, applicable taxes necessary to complete Electrical Package as shown in the Contract Documents for the above referenced Project. The Scope of Work for the Electrical Package is further specified in the Agreement, the Scope of Work, the Plans and Specifications, and other documents that will be uploaded to TUebid as part of the solicitation.

Release of Electrical

The Electrical Package is tentatively scheduled to be released for bid no later than November 6, 2020 with bids to be due on December 9, 2020.

All bidding information is released and processed through TUebid, Temple University’s on-line solicitation management system.

To be invited to participate in the bidding process through TUebid, interested parties must contact Naomi Greenberg, via e-mail at projects@temple.edu for written instructions by no later than 2:00p.m. EST, October 20, 2020. Insert the wording “Electrical -Vendor Registration” in the subject line.

If you are already registered as a Temple University vendor and in the TUebid system, you must indicate your interest in this Project by contacting Naomi Greenberg via e-mail at projects@temple.edu by no later than 2:00p.m. EST, October 20, 2020. Insert the wording “Electrical - Pre-Registered Vendor” in the subject line.

Registration in TUebid System; Legal Existence of Offeror. No bid will be accepted from a bidder that is not registered in the TUebid system. In order to ensure proper registration in the TUebid system, an application to register must be made no later than 5 days prior to the date scheduled for receipt of bids in the Calendar of Events that will appear in TUebid. Under no circumstances will a bid be accepted from or on behalf of an entity, such as a partnership or joint venture, that is not in existence on the date the bid is submitted, or the existence of which is contingent on a future event, such as the award of a contract pursuant to this solicitation.
