INVITATION TO BID

Notice is hereby given that the City of Kent, Washington, will receive sealed bids at the City Clerk’s office through May 14, 2024 up to 11:00 a.m. as shown on the clock on the east wall of the City Clerk’s Office on the first floor of City Hall, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, Washington. All bids must be properly marked and sealed in accordance with this “Invitation to Bid.” Bids must be delivered and received at the City Clerk’s office by the above-stated time, regardless of delivery method, including U.S. Mail. All bids will be opened and read publicly aloud immediately following 11:00 a.m. for the City of Kent project named as follows:

Supplying Motor Control Equipment for the Horseshoe Storm Pump Station Project Number: D20126 Bid Documents

The City Clerk will read the bids out loud from the Clerk’s office.  Individuals can stand in the lobby outside the Clerk’s office during the bid opening to hear the bid results.

The contract consists of the delivery and supply of motor control equipment for the City of Kent Horseshoe Storm Pump Station. Installation will be performed by others.

The Engineer’s estimated range for this project is approximately $120,000 to $140,000. Proposal documents may be obtained at no charge by contacting the City of Kent Engineering Department at (253)856-5500 or can be downloaded at https://www.kentwa.gov/pay-and-apply/bids-procurement-rfps . Bids must be clearly marked “BID” with the name of the project on the outside of the envelope, addressed to the City Clerk, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032-5895. Only sealed bids will be accepted. No facsimiles or electronic submittals will be considered.

Each bid shall be in accordance with specifications and other contract documents now on file in the office of the Deputy Director of Public Works Operations, City of Kent.

The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidder is the most responsive, satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof.

Bidders must submit with their initial bid a signed statement as to whether they have previously performed work subject to the President’s Executive Order No. 11246.

No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day the bids are opened.
