Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting proposals from qualified consultants or organizations to provide customer outreach and technical assistance in solid waste prevention, reduction, and recycling; source control and pollution prevention; and to a lesser degree water conservation across Solid Waste, Drainage and Wastewater, and Water Lines of Businesses (LOBs). This work will support SPU’s Green Business Program, which offers free tools and assistance to Seattle area business customers to conserve resources and prevent pollution. This work will also serve residential customers.

SPU has numerous programs and services to help businesses and residential customers partner with us and engage in activities such as increasing recycling and composting, keeping non-flushable materials out of the sewer system, preventing hazardous waste from getting into the stormwater system, and using water efficiently. Those programs and services are provided by a combination of SPU staff and consultants.
