Ability to meet or exceed the required specifications.
Total cost to ISU
Lead time
Warranty period
Read and understood
(Required: Check if applicable)
2 INTENDED RESEARCH PURPOSE AND APPLICATION
The equipment will be used to simulate gear and bearing failures under electrified lubricated conditions. Depending
on test parameters, rolling contact fatigue (RCF) tests will be conducted at different lubricating film thickness levels
while simulating failure modes such as micropitting, spalling and white etching cracks.
Read and Understood

3 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL:
The use of brand name or equal specifications is for the purpose of describing the standard of quality, performance
and characteristics desired and is not intended to limit or restrict competition. Specifications are given as guidelines
only; Alternate equipment(s) may vary slightly from given specifications. Alternate units are expected to be close in
specifications to desired unit.
4 REQUIRED TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS
The system should have twin roller platforms driven by high power motors (above 450V).
The maximum down force should be 5kN or above with a resolution of 0.25N or below.
The system should be capable of capturing instantaneous friction values during the test (dry and lubricated
conditions).
It should have capability to run rolling contact fatigue (RCF) tests at higher temperatures up to 150°C. There
should be capability to run RCF tests under electrified condition while capturing the voltage/resistance during
the test.
The rig should have additional sensors to detect failure or crack propagation during testing and stop the test
automatically based on preselected trip conditions.
The test rig should be installed and trained in-person at the university.
