ADDENDUM NO. 1

The items contained in this addendum are added to and/or deleted from and become part

of the specifications and bid documents for the above-referenced Invitation to Bid. Bidders

must acknowledge receipt of the Addendum on the Bid Form, located in the invitation

to bid, when the bids are submitted.

PERTAINING TO THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE

A Pre-Bid Conference was held at 2:30-pm, October 24, 2023, at the Joshua Street Water

Pollution Control Plant. The meeting summary with a list of attendees is attached.

PERTAINING TO THE PROJECT MANUAL

ITEM 1: Bidder is herein advised that the JSWPCP Solids Handling Upgrades project is exempt

from the Build America, Buy America Act via the “EPA – SRF – Final Waiver –

Adjustment Period, September 2022 – Signed” because design work began prior to May of 2022.

See the attached Waiver for reference.

PERTAINING TO THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

ITEM 1: Bidder is herein advised that American will be considered an approved equal under 33

05 10 – Valves and Accessories, Article 2.1-A.

ITEM 2: Bidder is herein advised that 33 05 10 – Valves & Accessories, Article 2.1-B shall be

deleted in its entirety and replaced as follows:

B. Provide gate valves that are cast iron or ductile ironed bodied, bronze mounted, resilient

wedge, O-ring type with non-rising stem and opening counterclockwise. Provide valves that

are manufactured in accordance with AWWA C509 or AWWA C515, latest revision, for

resilient-seated gate valves, and AWWA C500, latest revision, for double disc, parallel seat

gate valves, designed for 200 psi working pressure for 3-inch through 12-inch, or 150 psi

working pressure for 14-inch through 36-inch. Provide valves for buried service that have

mechanical joint ends in accordance with AWWA C111 and operating nut in accordance with

AWWA C500. Provide valves for above ground service that are American Standard Flanged,

with wheel operator.

ITEM 3: Bidder is herein advised that GA Industries will be considered an approved equal under

40 05 62 – Plug Valves, Articles 2.1.

ITEM 4: Bidder is herein advised that Section 40 61 13 – Process Control System General

Provisions Article 1.6-E shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

E. PCSS shall be MR Systems, Southern Flow, or Revere.
