Addendum #II: IFB 03262024VK Westwood HS Roof Replacement
Dear Bidders:
This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall acknowledge receipt of this
Addendum on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. Addendum I shall be
located on the MSCS Procurement website, Procurement (scsk12.org). For your convenience, the Addendum II
is attached.
Item #1 Concrete Structures above roof. All concrete structures above roof shall have the horizontal surfaces
pressure washed clean, dried, and saturated with a High Solids repellent. All concrete vertical surfaces
currently painted shall be painted with elastomeric paint. Color to be chosen with awarded bidder. Contractor
to include in the base bid pricing. (Attached photo for reference)
Item #2 Contractors are to include the small roof at the classroom wing. This roof shall match the surrounding
new roof areas designed with the necessary R-Value and taper to direct moisture and reduce ponding. Install a
small gutter system to contain moisture at selected drainage point. Gravel stop to be used at rake edge chosen
to direct moisture towards gutter edge. (Attached photo for reference).
Item #3 Roof access ladders. All roof access ladders mounted to the exterior of the structure are to be cleaned,
primed, and painted. Alter ladders as needed for new roof insulation heights.
Item #4 Overflow Scuppers. All overflow scuppers present are to remain functional. Roofing Contractor to
alter scupper opening to meet the new roof insulation height. New metal scupper sleeves are to be installed
with new metal face plates. Line opening with EPDM and detail accordingly prior to installation of the metal
scupper sleeve. Follow SMACNA scupper face drip standards for the exterior face of the scupper.
Item #5 Gym Soffit. Remove and replace the gym soffit with new metal panels to intertwine with the new
metal fascia anticipated to be installed. Panels are to be a flush mount soffit panel system with associated trim
metals at building connection. Non-vented plywood exists and ventilated panels are not anticipated to be
required. Color to match edge metal colors to be selected.
Item #6 Roofing Contractor to note conduits placed onto the underside of the gymnasium wood deck.
Confirm placement of any fasteners prior to penetration of the wood deck.
Item #7 Roofing Contractor to include removing and replacement of currently abandoned penetrations
beneath the roof membrane. Include proper structural steel plate to provide walkable surface at metal, concrete,
or wood decks. Plate to be primed and painted prior to installation and attachment to the structural
components.

Item #8 Any General Contractor providing pricing must include the Roofing Contractor on the bid envelope.
Ensure all subcontracted forces meet the designed specification for approved manufacturers within the design
documents. Include the Subcontractor’s manufacturer letter for formal submission with the bid package
showing 5-years of approved installations with submitted manufacturer for bid. All letters must be on an
approved manufacturer’s letterhead.

Item #10 Badge Requirements
Roofing Contractor is to confirm all badge requirements for work performed on MSCS projects. Ensure all
badges are obtained, a list of approved technicians is provided, and badges are visible at all times while working
onsite.
