AWARD: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor
advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, bu
exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule
comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity.
The Awarded contractor must be an Iowa licensed, bonded and insured contractor
Overview: Removal and replacement of existing concrete weigh scale bridge deck, steel s
cell technology at the West Point location as per the attached specifications and plans. Wor
load cell support piers as required by bridge deck/load cell manufacturer. Engineer sealed
provided by the contractor. Modifications to the concrete pier footings as dictated by the ste
DOT. Any modifications to the pier footings must be supplied and installed by the Contracto
Contractor will be responsible for all traffic control.
Project Location: 1300 Hwy 218 North Bound, West Point, IA 52656
Contractor must train IDOT staff on operation of scale.
DOT Estimated Project Start Date: May 20, 2024
DOT Estimated Project Completion Date: November 1, 2024
Davis- Bacon Wages do not apply to this project.
This is a tax exempt project.

3 Performance and Payment Bond
If the contracted amount is $25,000 or more, the successful Bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond cove
the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder. Iowa DOT will provide the Performance and Payment
A Resident Commission Agent or attorney-in-fact must file a copy of the power of attorney.
