Overview:
This project will consist of the removal and replacement of two sections of the
existing roof above the wash bay and maintenance garage stall area (approx.
16,520 SF) at the Ashton Maintenance Garage as per the attached drawings and
specifications. This includes Membrane, insulation, vapor barrier and metal coping.
Contractor to verify square footage.
Work to be done M-F 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. CT

DOT Estimated Start Date: June 3, 2024 (Start date to be coordinated with IDOT
Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are
received i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract).
Estimated Completion date: August 30, 2024 (This includes resolution to all
punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction
bids).
Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible
bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost
and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or
exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time
schedule.
Until the contract is awarded the sole point of contact for this project is Teri Schulz
(see bid contract information) any and all questions related to this project are to be
submitted to Teri Schulz through the IONwave Bid system on or before April 9, 2024
at 10:00 pm CT
Warranty is required, see specifications attached
This is project is exempt from state sales tax.

Site Visits: A site visit is recommended of the bidder. To schedule a site visit
contractors must contact Teri Schulz at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with a date and time
of when you want a site visit. Site visits must be completed on or before April 8,
2024. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site
visit. All questions related to site visit should go directly to IONWave or Teri Schulz at
teri.schulz@iowadot.us

Bidder certifies that-

firm to submit or not to submit a response; that this response has been independently arrived at without collusion

3 Performance and Payment Bond
If the contracted amount is $25,000 or more, the successful Bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond
covering the faithful performance of 100% of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder.
Iowa DOT will provide the Performance and Payment Bond Form 131070 upon contract award.
A Resident Commission Agent or attorney-in-fact must file a copy of the power of attorney.

4 Power of Attorney
Attorney-in-fact who signs the Proposal Guaranty and/or Performance Bond must file with each bond a certified and
effectively dated copy of the Power of Attorney.
5 Labor Relations
All Bidders, before entering into a contract with the Department, must be registered with the Division of Labor in the
Iowa Department of Workforce Development (515-281-3606) according to chapter 91C, Code of Iowa 2015. This
pertains to contractor’s who engage in the business of construction.
Bidders must submit their Contractor Number with their response.
