Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
Overview
Construction of new 1500 Ton Salt Storage Building at the Clarinda Maintenance Garage location, as per attached plans and project manual.
Provide Unit Pricing for over-excavation if additional excavation required beyond that identified on plan. (CY).
Provide Unit Pricing for structural fill if additional structural fill required beyond that identified on plan. (CY).
Work to be done during regular working hours and days M - F 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. CT
Site visit is recommended.
Inspection by Iowa State Building Code Bureau.
Required 1 year construction warranty and materials warranty as indicated in specs.
Awarded contractor must be a licensed, bonded and insured contractor
DOT Estimated Start Date: June 3, 2024 (Start date to be coordinated with IDOT Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract).
Completion date: August 30, 2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids).
NOTE: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12.

Site Visits: A site visit is recommended prior to submitting a bid.
