Notes:

Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the
responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa
DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to:
meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting
required time schedule.
Overview:
The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for an Iowa licensed plumbing or
mechanical contractor to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary for a
new sanitary sewer force main piping and dual pump lift station system per the
attached specifications and drawings. Contractor will provide new valves, visual and
audible high level tank alarm, and piping as shown on the drawings for the West
Burlington Iowa DOT Maintenance Facility. Project includes connecting to existing
PVC sewer services and removal and replacement of granular drive and restoration
of grass.
Contractor must dispose of all materials and debris off site.
All work will be completed during normal business hours 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. M-F,
including any demo.
Estimated Project Start Date: April 1, 2024 April 8, 2024 (Start Date shall be
coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager)
Estimated Project Completion Date: October 25, 2024 November 1, 2024
Contract must be an Iowa licensed plumbing or mechanical contractor

CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE A WORD DOCUMENT CONFIRMING THEY
HAVE A MINIMUM OF FIVE (5) YEARS EXPERIENCE INCLUDING WORK ON
SIMILAR PROJECT. DOCUMENT MUST INCLUDE PROJECT NAME,
LOCATION, TIMEFRAME AND DESCRIPTION. DOCUMENTATION OF

This is project is exempt from state sales tax.

Site Visit: A site visit is recommended. In the event a contractor wishes to set up
a site visit please contact Teri Schulz via email at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with a date
and time of when you want a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own
equipment needed for the site visit.

3 Performance and Payment Bond
If the contracted amount is $25,000 or more, the successful Bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond
covering the faithful performance of 100% of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder.
Iowa DOT will provide the Performance and Payment Bond Form 131070 upon contract award.
A Resident Commission Agent or attorney-in-fact must file a copy of the power of attorney.
