The Plano Independent School District (Plano ISD and/or the District) is issuing a Public Request for Information (RFI) from qualified firms to gather current market information for a Transportation Management System- School Bus Routing, GPS Tracking & Related Hardware and Fleet Maintenance.
This RFI also requests information on planning the implementation of the transportation student tracking system.
Plano ISD serves approximately 49,000 students in 73 schools over 100 square miles in Southwest Collin County.
This RFI is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a solicitation nor should it be construed as an obligation on the part of Plano ISD to make any purchases or enter into a services contract. This RFI should not be construed as a means to pre-qualify vendors. Plano ISD may utilize the results of this RFI in drafting a competitive solicitation (RFP) for a Transportation Management System - School Bus Routing, GPS Tracking and Related Hardware, and Fleet Maintenance.
Based on the information provided by the respondents to this RFI, a determination will be made regarding any actual contracting through a procurement process which, at Plano ISD's option, could include but not be limited to: a formal procurement process or using an existing Cooperative contract.
Plano ISD reserves the right to not issue an RFP to procure a Transportation Student Tracking System and Related Hardware as a result of issuing this RFI.
Participation is this RFI is voluntary and failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude subsequent participation in any procurement process developed as a result of this RFI.
Plano ISD will not be responsible in any manner for costs incurred for the preparation of any information submitted by a respondent or for Plano ISD's use of that information.

- June 4, 2023 - RFI is issued
- June 15, 2023 - 4:00 pm (CST) - Deadline for receiving questions from vendors;
- June 19, 2023 - 10:00 am (CST)- RFI is closed and responses are opened
