Adelaide Street Improvements (Striegel Court to College Avenue)

General Project Description: This project consists of furnishing all work necessary for the completion of milling and hot mix asphalt overlay and sidewalk improvements, along with necessary incidentals, on Adelaide Street in the Town of Normal, Illinois. The proposed improvement consists of the following approximate quantities: 10,932 SY Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Removal; 83 SY Full Lane Sealant Waterproofing Membrane; 400 SY Class B Patches; 800 SY Class D Patches; 7,500 pounds Bituminous Materials (Tack Coat); 3,100 feet Longitudinal Joint Sealant; 95 tons Polymerized HMA Binder Course, IL-4.75, N50; 766 tons Polymerized HMA Binder Course, IL-9.5FG, N90; 919 tons Polymerized HMA Surface Course, SMA, 9.5, Mix E, N80; 3,100 SF Excavation for Sidewalk Widening; 8,300 SF Sidewalk Removal; 11,200 SF PCC Sidewalk, 6”; 265 SF PCC Sidewalk, 8”; 200 feet Side Curb for ADA Ramps; 525 feet Barrier Yard Curb, Special; 190 SF Detectable Warnings; 65 feet Remove and Re-erect Iron Fence; 1,100 feet Combination Curb and Gutter Removal; 1,100 feet Combination Concrete Curb and Gutter, Type B-6.18, Special; 1,200 feet Combination Concrete Curb and Gutter, Removal and Replacement, Special; adjustment or replacement of 36 gas, water, or sewer structures; 11,000 feet Short-term Pavement Markings – Paint; 2,900 feet Short-term Pavement Markings – Tape; 250 SF Paint Pavement Marking – Letters and Symbols; 6,800 feet Paint Pavement Marking – Line 6”; 950 feet Paint Pavement Marking – Line 12”; 175 feet Paint Pavement Marking – Line 24” ; and all other necessary items and incidentals required to complete this project according to the plans and specifications.

Bids must be submitted to the Town Clerk in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Adelaide Street Improvements” at the following location before the following date and time:

Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Bid Due Time in Office of the Town Clerk, 11 Uptown Circle, Normal, IL 61761

This is a prevailing-wage project.

Bid documents are available electronically from the Town of Normal website at http://www.normalil.gov/bids.aspx .

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the One Uptown Conference Room, One Uptown Circle, 2 nd floor.
