INVITATION TO BID/NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Project: City of Westfield Jachym Field

Date: March 27, 2024

Written proposals addressed to the City Purchasing Department, City Hall, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts and endorsed “Jachym Field Project – Bid 24-034” will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office, Room 101 of City Hall, until 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2024 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud. That afternoon, the bid results will be available on the City’s website under bid results if you do not want to stay for the bid opening (https// www.cityofwestfield.org/bids.aspx ). A pre-bid site visit will take place at Jachym Field located at the end of Graylock Street on April 3, 2024 at 3:00 PM. Attendance is not mandatory, but all bidders are encouraged to attend.

The work under this Contract generally includes the redevelopment of the Jachym Field to include new dugouts and associated site improvements as described herein.

A proposal guarantee of 5% of the Bid shall be required. Minimum wage rates have been set. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be 100% of the Contract Amount.

Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of General Laws, (3rd Ed.) Chapter 30, Section 39M, inclusive as amended. Federal Wage Rates apply, the higher of the two must be paid.
