Sealed Bids will be received up until 11:00 A.M. on April 11, 2024 by the City of Taunton Treasurer Department, located at 15 Summer Street, Taunton, MA 02780, from only those Contractors eligible to bid and at that place and time shall be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will be valid only when accompanied by (1) a Certificate of Eligibility issued by DCAMM showing that the Contractor has been approved to bid on projects of this size and nature and (2) an update statement summarizing the Contractor’s records for the period between the latest DCAMM Certification and the date the Contractor submits its bid and (3) complete resumes and qualifications of designated company personnel that are to perform all related temperature control and computer work at the school locations.
Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Treasurer’s Check, or Cashier’s Check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the City of Taunton in the amount of five per cent (5%) of the total Bid amount. The Bid Deposit shall be satisfactory to the Awarding Authority and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the Principal of the agreements contained in the Bid. Copies of the Bid Documents will be available at the Procurement Department located at 15 Summer Street (City Hall) in the Treasurer’s Office on the 1st Floor Taunton, MA 02780 on March 26, 2024 and may be picked up between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4 P.M. One (1) complete set of Bid Documents will be available to each Bidder. Bid information and postings may be found on the City’s website.
The award of the Contract or rejection of all bids will be made within thirty (30) days (Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded) after the opening of bids and no Bidder may withdraw his bid within this period of time. Bids may be withdrawn only if requested in writing previous to the opening. The contract will be awarded to the responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest total price.
All Bids for the project are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter Chapter 149. Minimum labor rates have been established for the project by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as set forth in the Contract Documents. The City of Taunton reserves the right to waive any minor informalities, to cancel this bid, or to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
