GENERAL INFORMATION:

The City of Cortez seeks qualified Licensed, Insured, Commercial Applicators of Herbicides provide weed control services for City Parks Department, Golf Course, Public Works, and Municipal Airport. The applicator will work directly with each department representative to schedule and perform the duties of the weed control program for each department.

DUE DATE:

Proposals are due no later than Monday April 15, 2024, at 3:00 P.M., and should be returned to the Office of the General Services Director, City of Cortez, 110 West Progress Circle, Cortez, Colorado 81321. Proposals shall be submitted in writing and signed by the bidder or his duly authorized agent. Proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, marked on the outside with “PROPOSAL: WEED CONTROL SERVICES”, and with the bidder's name.

SELECTION:

After Monday April 15, 2024 the City will review the information submitted and make a recommendation to the City Council for award. The City reserves the right to waive any formality or any informality in the process of awarding a proposal. The City of Cortez reserves the right to accept any proposal, in whole or in part, and to reject any or all proposals if it be deemed in the best interest of the City to do so.

Qualifications:
EVALUATION CRITERIA:
1. Statement of Qualifications to perform the required work in the State of Colorado, including State of Colorado registration certificates and numbers. Qualifications of the firm and assigned personnel, including necessary Federal and State licenses. Please identify all pesticide applicator categories.
2. The bidder's ability to provide the service or materials promptly or within the specified time period.
3. The bidder's reputation, integrity, experience, and character. Please identify experience and/or projects (ideally three examples) satisfactorily completed with similar scope and scale. Please share standard safety protocols implemented to complete work.
4. Provide a standard labor and equipment rate(s), if applicable, to be locked in for the contract term and a menu of chemicals for each application you recommend for an effective, low toxicity, and environmentally sensitive treatment. Chemical selections need to consider regular public access to most sites. Classify chemicals based on their purpose – post-emergent and ground sterilant, broadleaf (post-emergent selective) in turf treatment, post-emergent non-selective, and pre-emergent.
5. The firm's special capabilities could provide the City of Cortez with a more efficient and effective end product.
