Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Removal and Replacement of 16'x13' Fabric Hoop Door; Installation of Pulley System for Operation of Door at the Emmetsburg Maintenance Garage Hoop Building; 1405 Adams Street, Emmetsburg, IA 50536. Scope: Vendor to remove and replace canvas door on smaller hoop building. Canvas door is approximately 16' wide x 13' tall. Vendor is responsible to confirm measurements. Vendor also to provide pulley system for opening and closing door. This project will be bid as one line. See RFB FY2024 #198 Scope & Specifications document on Attachments tab for additional resources . Project must be bid in accordance with Specification 13-3100 Fabric Structures contained within the attached document. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Questions: All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the ION Wave Bid system on or before the cut off date of December 24, 2023 at 10:00 PM CST as indicated in the solicitation. Estimated start date -01/01/2024 ( The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date - 06 /14/2024 (This includes re solution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). NOTE: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12. C ontractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor for the removal and replacement of material as per plans/specifications outlined on the Line Item tab. This includes the disposal of all debris off site. Site Visits: A site visit is required to verify field measurements and will be accommodated if needed prior to submitting a bid to ensure the vendor has access to view the job site. To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want to conduct a site visit. Please schedule and conduct all site visits prior to 12/24/2023. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit. Davis-Bacon wages do not apply.
