Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Two 14'x12' overhead doors (doors #9 & #10- rough measurement) ~~and one commercial trolley operator w/ two remotes (door #9),~~ one commercial trolley operator w/ two remotes & one jackshaft operator w/ two remotes as per specifications as outlined in RFB FY2024 #197 Specifications document (Attachments tab). The location for this project is the Spirit Lake, IA DOT Maintenance Garage located at 3001 18th Street, Spirit Lake, IA 51360. Acceptable brands are listed within the Specifications document and within the Line Items tab. Pre-Bid substitutions are allowed on this bid. Before providing bid, please complete the Pre-Bid Request for Approval of Products or Materials form located on the Attachments tab. Following business unit review, you will be notified if your substituted material was approved or denied for this project. Scope: Contractor to remove and replace Door #9 & #10 ~~and remove and replace trolley operator on door #9 and replace with new unit w/ two remotes~~ and remove & replace one commercial trolley operator (Door #9) and one commercial jackshaft operator (Door #10) and program two remotes per door as per specifications. There is no hi-lift track on this project; both doors are standard radius track as per specifications. Measurements shown on floor plan contained within RFB FY2024 #197 Specifications pertain to measurement between openings. Contractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor for the removal and replacement of material as per plans/specifications outlined on the Line Item tab. This includes the disposal of all debris off site. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Estimated start date -Upon issuance of award ( The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date - 06 /01/2024 (This includes re solution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). Note: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12. Site Visits: A pre-bid site visit is recommended but not required. A site visit to verify final fit measurements is required of the awarded contractor . To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when the awarded contractor wishes to conduct a site visit before the question cutoff date/time or post-bid for the awarded contractor.
