Bid Questions
Question Is it a requirement to have the electrical subcontractor portion, or can we be listed for our own electrical work as well?
Answer This contract will be awarded to respondents who demonstrate their ability to provide the described services. If any respondent is equipped to provide the services of the preferred electrical subcontractor in-house, please note this on Form 1 of the proposal and complete the preferred electrical subcontractor sections of the RFP (Forms 2B and 3B) using the prime contractor's information accordingly. This would also need to be reflected in the Cost Proposal Forms 6, 7, and 8 only for short-listed firms at the time of interview.

Question We are having difficulty determining if we are currently licensed with Johnson County to do business. Is this something you can see from your end? If we are not, what is the process to get licensed?
Answer Licenses and Permits, which is included in Section 9.35. of the RFP, requires contractors to be licensed to do business in the State of Kansas and Johnson County.

Contractors shall register to do business in the State of Kansas, regardless of jurisdiction, by registering their business with the Kansas Department of Revenue.

Contractors shall also register to do business in Johnson County by registering their business with Department of Planning, Housing, and Community Development. Question If not, is there a minimum number of trades that a contractor should be able to provide to get this contract?
Answer There is not a minimum number of trades requested by the contractor. Award of contract will be based on Qualifications, as specified in section 7 of RFP. The Evaluation of Qualifications and scoring process are described in section 8 of RFP.

Question Do we need rate prices for all the trade positions listed in Table 6-1 of Form 6 in the RFP?
Answer Please provide rates for all trade positions which are applicable to your firm. Respondents should fill in all of the listed labor classifications, even if the same rate is applied for several of these positions to make sure the completion of the Form 8, if requested of firm, is accurate for comparison.

Answer The COI is not due with the proposal submission. The COI will only be requested from the firm(s) notified of intent to award.

Question Please clarify if there is a warranty/correction period, and how long it is.
Answer In general, the warranty/correction period of each individual project authorized under this RFP will be one (1) year and will commence on the date of Substantial Completion. Reference Article 13 of Attachment A.1 - EJCDC GENERAL CONDITIONS.
