Several locations have notes stating to cut open the hard ceiling in order to install the lift supports. The areas hatched appear to be 2 x2 square. Are we to assume that 2 x2 openings are all that is required to be cut and patched at each location shown or is that to be determined by the contractor?

Is the basis of design for the new lift manufacturer the only lifts the VA will accept or can other manufacturers be submitted?

The Lift Manufacturer identified is the VA's preferred vendor/lift. However, manufacturers who have equipment that have specifications above and beyond the specifications of the "basis of design" equipment are acceptable and will be considered.

Can the VA confirm that of all the new lifts required, that there are only three (3) existing lifts that need to be removed and replaced with new ones?

Two lifts need to be replaced - (1) lift in Bldg 1 G201 and (1) in Bldg 128. There is a cross rail in Bldg 128 with no lift attached that may be causing confusion.
