The Town of Somerset, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the restoration of existing doors and windows at the Historic Swansea Friends Meeting House, located at 223 Prospect Street, Somerset, MA, in accordance with the documents prepared by J. M. Booth and Associates, Inc., located at 628 Pleasant St., Suite 428, New Bedford, MA.
The work, in general, consists of the restoration of existing wood windows, and doors.
The Construction Cost of this project is estimated at $232,283.00 dollars, including all alternates.
Bids are subject to MGL c.149 sec. 44A - 44J and to minimum wage rates as required by MGL c.149 sec. 26 to 27H inclusive.
General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work HISTORICAL BUILDING RESTORATION, and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement.
State law prohibits discrimination.
The site is listed in the State Register of Historic Places, all work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, and the project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund, Massachusetts Historical Commission.
Time for Completion:
The Contractor shall commence the Work under this Contract on the date specified in the written "Notice to Proceed," and shall complete within 120 days after such date, bring the Work to Substantial Completion, and shall bring the Work to Final Acceptance within 30 days after the date specified for Substantial Completion

General bids will be received until 2:00 PM on Thursday November 20th, 2025, and publicly opened forthwith

Any and all bids received after the prescribed time shall be deemed non- responsive and will be returned to the bidder unopened.
All bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) percent of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Town of Somerset
