ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Former Carmelite Monastery Building Abatement & Demolition
25 Watson Ave. Barrington, Rhode Island
Sealed bids for the Town of Barrington, Former Carmelite Monastery Building Abatement &
Demolition Project will be received at the Town of Barrington until 1:00 PM on July 10, 2025. Each sealed
bid needs to be marked on the outside of the envelope “Former Carmelite Monastery Building Abatement &
Demolition Project”. This project is subject to prevailing wage rates. Minority and women owned businesses
are encouraged to submit bids.
Former Carmelite Monastery Building Abatement & Demolition Project work encompassed under this
Contract shall include, but not limited to, filing for applicable State and Local permits, asbestos abatement,
utility shutoff/capping, building demolition, coordination with the Town of Barrington, erosion control, and
providing all materials, labor, tools and incidentals necessary to complete the work of this contract to the
satisfaction of the Owner.
The Bidder must agree to commence work and fully complete the work of this Contract on the dates specified in
the contract documents. The Bidder must agree also to pay liquidated damages for each consecutive calendar day
thereafter as hereinafter provided in the Contract and General Conditions.
BID SECURITY in the form of bid bond, certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check in the amount of
5(%) percent of the bid amount must accompany each Bid. No bidder may withdraw his Bid within 90 days after
the actual date of the opening thereof.
Plans and Bid Documents are available on the website of the Town of Barrington (www.barrington.ri.gov/bids)
under Bids/RFPs tab starting on June 18, 2025. It will be the Bidders responsibility to check the website for any
addendum posted.
There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on June 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Project Site, 25
Watson Ave, Barrington RI.
Successful bidder must furnish 100% Performance Bond and 100% Labor and Material Payment Bond and the
required insurance certificates and execute the Agreement within (10) calendar days following notification of the
Acceptance of his/her Bid.
The Town of Barrington reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies,
to accept individual bid items and excluding others, and to accept any a bid that it may deem to be in the best
interest and most responsive of the Owner.
Attention of the bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed
and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. In conformity with the Provisions of Chapter 13 of Title
