The Town is interested in contracting with a Consultant with expertise and experience working on land use and pedestrian connectivity plans through an engaging public planning process, especially in creating concept plans that both provide the means for future infrastructure investments and strive to maintain community character by enhancing streetscape design, promoting multi-modal mobility, and providing new opportunities for existing and fu-ture residents of the MCMOD in a manner that encourages environmental re-siliency. Through robust community engagement, the Consultant shall pre-pare a detailed Project that will help Westford achieve some of its economic development, housing and sustainability goals for the town, just as it intend-ed through the MBTA Communities planning process. The Consultant will as-sist the Town to identify strategic connections to existing trails and sidewalk networks as well as new trails and connections that are consistent with the goals of the Project. The Project will secondarily educate the public about the benefits of thoughtful multi-family development and redevelopment.
