A requirement exists at Buckley SFB for a virtual reality training system specifically for shoot/move training and tactical scenarios. This is highly viable way forward to meet current requirements, driven by the need for enhanced training realism, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Product/Service Description: The required VR system should comprise:

VR headsets with high-fidelity visuals and accurate tracking.

Haptic feedback devices (e.g., for recoil).

Realistic weapon replicas (e.g., Sig Sauer M18 airsoft, Glock 17/19, Taser, OC spray).

Software platform for scenario creation, performance tracking, and after-action review (AAR).

Multi-user functionality for team training and communication.

Customizable virtual environments tailored to SFS specifications (e.g., schools, medical facilities).

Props and assets to enhance scenario realism.

Instructor tablet for scenario control.

Optional: Eye-tracking hardware, live actor integration.

Delivery Schedule: Delivery is estimated at up to 60 days from order confirmation (Operator XR). Other vendors may have different lead times (e.g., FAAC Incorporated states 60 days ARO).

SCOPE:

The 460th SFS will utilize the VR training system to complete mandated monthly/quarterly and yearly training. This VR training system will comprise four complete systems, each including two VR headsets with swappable batteries and a four-bay charging bank. Included are software licenses for headset operation, law enforcement/tactical training software supporting simultaneous users, after-action review and scenario sketching modules, along with software support, device management, and online training resources. Each system will also include two CO2-operated non-lethal training rifles (M4/AR-15 style) and pistols (Sig Sauer M18 style) with magazines, accompanying weapon tracking systems, CO2 cartridges and refill capability, airsoft-capable training weapon options, two X26 TASER training CEWs, two OC spray trainers, and two ASP baton trainers. System hardware includes two ruggedized, portable computers with 5G/self-Wi-Fi capability housed in a protective case, a power rack, all necessary cables, cleaning supplies, user manuals, and device management software. Optional items for consideration include eye-tracking hardware, replacement headsets and tablets, weapon conversion kits, and CO2 adapters. A multi-year service support contract and on-site training/setup are also required.
